Run Jenny, the explosive, all-female contemporary-rock band hit the original music scene in 2014. This line up has been rocking out national stages for more than a decade under the name Sister Funk. Sister Funk has been the recipients of many awards: Toad’s Place New England Battle of the Bands winner, the Red Door battle of the bands and recently with the release of their new music branded under the name Run Jenny their song Get My Whiskey On was nominated by OutMusic Awards for best country song.
Originally from Norfolk, CT but now based in Brooklyn, NY, Mike Cobb & The Crevulators play country-blues-rock. Led by guitarist and songwriter Mike Cobb, The Crevulators’ Southwestern-flavored rockabilly-sound has made a strong impact on the New York country music scene, and the band plays frequently in NY and New England. Mike Cobb also hosts a popular podcast which features creative types of all stripes from Brooklyn, NY & beyond.
Lara Americo is a singer/songwriter living in Charlotte, NC. Multi-talented, Lara sings, plays lead guitar and percussion in her popular trio group. Americo uses her voice as a megaphone for trans-issues. She’s been campaigning to repeal HB2, the anti-LGBTQ law, and All Sounds Fair was lucky enough to have her headline our spring benefit in Charlotte, NC. Rolling Stone interviewed Lara for her music/activism work. She’s also been featured in other national outlets, including Rolling Stone, Democracy Now, The Huffington Post, and BBC 4. Her first EP will be released this fall.
This stellar line-up of talent coincides with The Concert Across America remembersept25.org Artists and activists will band together for the #ConcertAcrossAmerica to #EndGunViolence with a series of live concerts brought together by social media.
The OneOrlando Fund was established through the generosity of businesses, foundations and individual donors in response to the senseless shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida on June 12, 2016. The attack was the deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter in United States history, and the deadliest incident of violence against LGBT people in the history of the United States (claiming the lives of 49 individuals and wounding 53 others). Due to the tremendous outpouring from the community seeking to provide financial support, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced the formation of the OneOrlando Fund.
All Sounds Fair is a ‘music catalyst for LGBT causes’ and its mission is to band together for human rights and advance equality through the power of music. For more information, please visit allsoundsfair.org
